Case Study #1: Ponte Ferries Limited, Malta (2020 – 2023)

Ponte Ferries was a Malta based owner of the 98-metre high-speed passenger and car (ROPAX) ferry, ‘HSC Artemis’. IMS played a pivotal role in establishing operations and continuity of service. Management service concluded when the customer ceased operations.

• Established a local shore-based team of Ship Managers, Technical Superintendents and support crew to collaborate with Owner’s team
• Provided specialist & qualified operators of high-speed ferries
• Created Route Rating & Type Rating manuals
• Implemented planned maintenance system
• Trained and type-rated bridge and engine officers
• Obtained interim, then full-term Document of Compliance
• Requisitioning of goods and services in accordance with Ponte Ferries policies
• Preparing, planning and undertaking vessel dry docking & planned maintenance

Case Study #2: National Infrastructure Development Company (NIDCO), Trinidad & Tobago 2018 – 2021

In 2018, IMS commenced a 3-year management services agreement to operate and maintain a 72 metre passenger and car ferry that transits the waters between the islands of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean.

In 2020 this agreement was extended for six months to cover two new ferries, APT James and Buccoo Reef which were delivered into the island nation by IMS.

In-country Technical Management was maintained ashore via the IMS Technical Superintendent (Manager) and Engineering Superintendents. These essential shore staff provided the daily interface with NIDCO and regularly provided technical support, safety management, procurement, vessel budgeting and reporting services.

• Vessel minor and major maintenance scheduling, including spares and consumables control
• Requisitioning of goods and services in accordance with NIDCO policies
• Periodic vessel and safety performance reporting to NIDCO
